Program Certificates
Accounting Technician–This 30-week certificate program qualifies you for a position that involves keeping records of financial transactions for businesses, posting to journals, reconciling and balancing accounts both manually and by computer, and performing computerized spreadsheet applications. Training also covers accounting terminology, starting an accounting system, analyzing journal entries into debits and credits, posting to the general ledger, preparing a worksheet, analyzing, adjusting and closing entries, preparing financial statements, and computerized accounting. Learn these software programs: Windows XP/Vista, Ten Key, Data Entry, Word, Excel, and QuickBooks Pro.
Accounting Specialist–This 40-week certificate program provides the graduating student the skills to obtain employment as a General Accounting Clerk, Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk, Payroll Clerk, or Bookkeeper. Extensive training in accounting terminology, starting an accounting system, analyzing journal entries into debits and credits, posting to the general ledger, preparing a worksheet, analyzing, adjusting and closing entries, preparing financial statements and reports. Students will also receive training in computerized accounting. Learn these software programs: Windows XP/Vista, Data Entry, Word, Excel, and QuickBooks Pro.Courses
Accounting I, II, and III–Are you detail oriented and do you like to solve problems? Then the accounting field may be a good choice for you. Develop useful computer skills, learn critical thinking skills, and get a valuable overview of the business world. You will learn accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, income tax, financial statements, and Generally Accepted Principles (GAAP). You will also learn computer software and spreadsheets for accounting applications. Prerequisite: Completion of or current enrollment in Business Math is required.
Beginning QuickBooks Pro 2008- Have you learned computerized accounting? This course provides a self-paced, step-by-step environment in which students use QuickBooks Pro to learn how to set up a company's accounting system, create, and customize lists, set up and operate inventrory accounts, process payroll accounts, track and pay sales tax, process payrolls. Prerequistes: Accounting and computer experience.
Intermediate QuickBooks Pro 2008-Learn advanced features of QuickBooks Pro such as estimates, Pro such as estimates, progress invoicing job costing, finance charges, sales commission, time tracking, reinbursable expenses, fixed assets, and 1099 forms. Prerequistites: Accounting and computer experience.
Business Math/Ten Key- Does the word"math" strike terror in your heart? Come and join our math class to improve your math skills. The ability to perform mathematical operations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, and signed numbers is essential to good office skills. Great brush-up for employment tests! Ten Key: Do you enjoy working with numbers? Learn operation/functions of a ten-key calculator, improve speed and skills with timed drills.
